Since graduating with my fine arts degree I have worked in animation, where my art education really began. For it was there that the skills and techniques of western art were alive and well, and universities for the most part had ceased to teach these fundamentals. I have worked along side an Oscar winner, for an Oscar nominee, and was fortunate to teach several future nominees and one winner while in Dublin, Ireland. I continue to strive to learn from the Old Masters-Vermeer, Rembrandt, Da Vinci, as well as new ones: Norman Rockwell, Tom Lovell, William McGregor Paxton and the many brilliant animation artists who I have worked with or studied such as Richard Williams and the Disney and Warner Bros artists. In recent years I have returned to oil painting while studying under Marvin Mattelson who is a new master keeping alive the Old Masters techniques.
